Three-time World Champion, four-time European Champion, double Olympic medallist, five-time Grand Prix Champion and two-time Grand Slam Champion. Bianca currently works as a BBC Taekwondo pundit, Sky Sports presenter and Total Kombat host while continuing to inspire athletes through coaching, seminars and elite sparring sessions around the world.

Two-time World Champion and three-time European Champion. Aaron currently coaches elite athletes in Saudi Arabia through MAHD Academy while also working as a World Taekwondo commentator. He continues to train internationally alongside Bianca Cook while helping athletes reach Olympic standards.

Injury Prevention and Management – Taekwondo Sparring
MASSUK 2025 successfully delivered the inaugural Martial Arts Sports Symposium UK, attended by over 200 delegates and athletes. The event uniquely fused medical education with sport-specific training by combining expert-led presentations with the Olympic Edge Training Camp, bringing together a leading medical faculty, researchers, allied health professionals, elite taekwondo athletes and coaches to advance knowledge in the prevention, diagnosis and management of taekwondo injuries.
Running in parallel, the training camp enabled symposium delegates to observe elite athletes in action while exploring injury prevention, rehabilitation and performance with leading clinicians. Featuring Olympic medallist Bianca Cook and multiple World and European Champion Aaron Cook, the camp provided invaluable real-world context to the clinical discussions while showcasing the technical, physical and tactical demands of elite taekwondo.
Symposium delegates also had the opportunity to hear Bianca share her personal journey through injury, rehabilitation and return to elite competition. Her engaging Q&A session offered unique insight into the physical and psychological challenges of returning to sport.
For young athletes, the Olympic Edge Training Camp offered a unique opportunity to train alongside two of the sport’s most accomplished competitors. Under the guidance of Bianca Cook and Aaron Cook, participants received world-class coaching while gaining valuable insight into the mindset, preparation, and professionalism required to perform at the highest level.
Combined with first-hand exposure to the multidisciplinary medical and performance support discussed throughout the symposium, the camp provided an inspiring learning environment that is rarely available to grassroots athletes. The event strengthened collaboration between healthcare professionals and the martial arts community while inspiring the next generation of competitors.
Mr Amer Khan was appointed Team Doctor for the Great British Martial Arts Team, recently supporting the squad at the World Martial Arts Games in Norway.
Leading the GBMAT medical team throughout the competition, Mr Khan oversaw the assessment and treatment of more than 120 international athletes competing across multiple martial arts disciplines. Working alongside the wider medical team, he managed injuries ranging from minor wounds to acute bone and soft-tissue injuries, provided pitch-side medical cover, and supported athletes throughout the event to help ensure they could compete safely.
His appointment reflects his extensive experience in orthopaedics and sports injury, with a particular interest in the prevention, assessment, and management of martial arts injuries. This practical expertise provides a valuable foundation for the discussions held at MASSUK, particularly in relation to combat-sports medicine, injury prevention, and athlete care.
